If you’ve spent any time on my blog, you know I love coffee. And if you’ve been to my home, you know how much I love my coffee setup. But what if I told you that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) has actually helped me get free coffee? That it even pays for my whole setup.
It might sound wild, but thanks to a few simple SEO strategies, and some smart tools, I’ve been able to land regular free coffee through my favorite coffee subscription.
So how do I do it?
1. Publishing Blogs Fast with HubSpot & ChatGPT
The biggest challenge with SEO? Actually writing the content. I have a ton of ideas, but sitting down and turning them into a blog post used to take forever.
Now, I use ChatGPT to help me take my rough ideas and structure them into a blog post in minutes. I still tweak and refine everything to match my voice, but it takes me a fraction of the time it used to. It is all about having a human idea, using AI to assist you with the idea, and then finishing it up with your human touch.
Then, I publish my blogs on my website that is built entirely on HubSpot, which makes managing content super easy. HubSpot’s built-in SEO tools also help me optimize my posts for the right keywords, readability, and mobile-friendliness.
The result? My blogs get published faster, rank better on Google, and attract coffee lovers like yourself.
2. Targeting Niche Keywords That Coffee Lovers Notice
A lot of people write about coffee, but not everyone writes about “Coffee Snob Setups” or the “Best Quiet Coffee Grinders” Instead of going after generic keywords like “best coffee grinder,” I focus on specific phrases that have less competition but still attract the right audience.
How do I find these keywords? HubSpot’s SEO recommendations and keyword tracking tools help me identify search terms that are easier to rank for. Though I also just try stuff. Oh and the most helpful free tool I use can be found in my new FREE course on SEO that you can join at the end of this post.
The result? I rank for terms that coffee people care about, leading to, yes you guessed it, free coffee.

3. Answering Real Questions & Adding Value
At the end of the day, SEO isn’t about tricking Google, it’s about helping real people find useful answers. The best-performing blogs I write are the ones where I genuinely solve a problem.
For example, I don’t just write “Best Coffee Grinders”, I write “The Quietest Coffee Grinder For Your Morning Routine” because that’s a real-life problem I had to solve. People searching for that topic are looking for real recommendations, not just a generic list.
When I focus on providing actual value, my blog posts rank higher, get shared more, and attract coffee people looking for answers.
And if you’re looking for a great way to try new coffees, I highly recommend Trade Coffee. They match you with beans based on your preferences and deliver fresh coffee straight to your door. They solved a serious coffee snob problem my wife and I had when we moved back to Hawaii.
